The role

We're looking for a smart, ambitious full-time junior developer to join our growing development team in a remote role based within a 3 hour timezone of London.

Reporting into one of our existing tech managers, you will be a part of our dev team of 35+ people including our existing team of Integration Developers.

In this role you will be responsible for integrating clients' jobs into the Adzuna site across 16 countries, primarily via integrating XML feeds and scraping HTML websites. There will also be opportunities to improve the existing integration/scraping tools and framework when required with a view to improving the speed of development, quality of data and increased automation.

We believe strongly in developing technical talent within Adzuna and during your time with us there will be opportunities for you to progress your career into a senior role tech team. As a company whose product is the website and underlying technical platform, we have a strong developer culture at Adzuna and very high retention rates within the tech team. Our tech team is also critical to the function and growth of the business and you will play an important role in this.

Desired skills: About you
We don't like to put people in boxes, but you're likely to be able to demonstrate much of the below:

Some Perl experience (or other scripting language e.g. Python, PHP)
Regular expressions
Linux basics (we use Ubuntu)
Excellent understanding of HTML and XML
Excellent communication skills and written/spoken English
Ability to work efficiently and effectively as part of a wider team
Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
We would also be very interested in some of the following skills:

Experience with SQL (MySQL or other DBMS)
Use of Git (or other VCS or DVCS)
C, C++, Java or another compiled language
Some experience working with Web APIs
Experience working with Jira or similar ticketing system
