Description: Fairbanks, LLC, is a well established, high energy entrepreneurial firm. We specialize in public sector consulting with a major emphasis on Medicaid billing and Medicare claiming. Our goal is to help government agencies resourcefully and accurately maximize reimbursements.

The Software Engineer will provide technical services to project and client teams on a project basis. Primary focus is the delivery of on-­‐going support, maintenance, and new features of our applications. This role is instrumental in our ability to meet client needs and to maintain market leadership. 

What you will do.....

-Write code from designs / requirements provided by the client or the business team
-Develop new features based on high level functional specifications
-Maintain existing code base by adding enhancements and fixing defects
-Test the developed code to ensure that the solution is meeting Fairbanks’ clients business and financial needs
-Follow and meet deadlines as dictated by project requirements and development schedules
-Work with the business teams to clarify development specifications
-Adhere to best practices in development, testing and documentation

We are currently a completely remote environment with no travel requirements and expect to remain so for the foreseeable future. If and when we go back in person, we will be a hybrid environment, but will remain open to remote working options.
Desired skills: What you should have....

-Understanding and experience with development of web applications
-Understanding and experience with system architecture and data modeling
-Analytical, diagnostic and problem-­‐solving/troubleshooting skills
-Solid interpersonal skills as well as strong written and oral communication
-Ability to communicate (written and verbal) in a professional manner when dealing with clients, co-­‐workers and other contacts
-Experience with the following technologies:
-Bachelor's degree in CS, CIS, CE or equivalent experience
-2 years of development experience with languages like Perl, Java or Ruby 
-A demonstrated ability to convert business requirements and technical designs into working code and solutions
