Description:
|
My client is an established media company based in South West London, and they are looking for a Senior Perl Developer to join their team as soon as possible.
As the Senior Perl Developer you will be involved in a hands on challenging role where you will take part in the IT teams’ design decisions and implement new functionality within their award winning website and corporate subscription services. You will work with other strong programmers (currently 3 in the team) and will be involved in both autonomous projects and extreme programming.
You are expected to have excellent communication and problem solving skills as well as a strong technical ability.

Required skills:
|
You will need at least 6 yrs-
- Perl/ OOPerl
- Linux System Administration (ideally Debian)
- SQL (ideally MySQL)
- Internet/ web development (HTML, DHTML, CGI, TCP/IP, HTTP, XML, JavaScript, DOM)
- Shell Scripting (e.g, BASH, AWK, SED, GREP)
- PC Server/Networking hardware and architecture
- Good algorithms skills are also needed!

Desired skills:
|
Any experience with Bind, Apache, Exim, CVS, IPVS, Heartbeat, SSH, Iptables OR Linux Kernel recompilation would be highly advantageous!!
