Description: Developer on Perl web team.

Under the supervision of the Director, and with some latitude for independent judgment, action and decision making, the Perl Web Developer is responsible for programming and maintaining corporate web technology applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


• Responsible for developing quality program code which meet the requirements outlined in our application development specification.

• Monitor programs and program data to ensure applications are running as expected

• Review development specifications and make recommendations on process improvements.

• Ensure data security for websites and company owned data and keep Director advised of any suspicious or potentially dangerous issues.

• Attends meetings applicable to Web Development Technologies as needed.

• Interfaces with clients during the on-boarding of new programs.

• Builds and motivates team to ensure continues success.

• Identifies staffing inadequacies and makes recommendations to the Director for new staff in order to enhance productivity and efficiency; interfaces with the Director to communicate the inefficiencies of staff members.

• Creates report scripts as per the request of business.

• Processes and updates corporate client’s GiftNet web information such as employee record information and downloads web results on a daily basis.

• Performs other duties and special projects as needed and directed by the Manager.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• 1-3 years of Perl programming experience preferred.
• 1-3 years experience working Linux OS – using vi editor
• Working knowledge of Interchange application server, Apache Web Server
• Strong object oriented development skills
• HS Diploma/ GED required. College degree preferred
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and Access).
• Demonstrated experience using Unix, Perl Scripting, web server, Relational Database. Formal training on relational database theory and the process of data normalization.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to organize multiple work assignments and establish priorities.
