Engineering Manager As a highly technical and hands-on software engineering manager you will manage and provide leadership for our web development team. You will work closely with product management, user interface design, and our server side engineering groups to establish UI requirements and software design standards. You will conduct design and code reviews to help promote best practices. You will play a key role in defining the future technical direction of our front end code base and will provide guidance on process and architecture improvements. |

Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate excellent judgement and flexibility in balancing technical requirements, meeting milestones, and keeping projects moving on schedule • Software architecture, design, and develop web services applications • Build, manage, and recruit several test-driven development teams Requirements: • BA/BS with solid academic record • 7+ years supervisory experience of software engineers, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, e.g. Master's degree plus 5 years experience. • Has capacity to manage 7+ people as well as working on one or more projects • 5+ years perl experience developing web-based systems running in a Unix environment • Expertise in: DBI, HTML::Mason, Template::Toolkit, Threads, and XS • Proficient Test Planning • Basic HTML/CSS/AJAX/JavaScript experience • Scrum/Agile/XP Software Development Experience |

• Search/text retrieval, domain management, and/or relevant industry experience
• Experience with design of experiments (DOE) - Taguichi approach • Basic SQL, XML, TCP/IP, NFS, mod_perl, and Apache application server knowledge • Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, performance optimization techniques and object-oriented programming • Familiar with C, Java, and PHP • Familiar with Mason, Template Toolkit, and Catalyst • MS/PhD |
