Digicon Corporation, established in 1985, is a full-service Information Technology Integrator and Provider servicing Network Engineering and Software Development to both government and commercial customers. Digicon employs approximately 300 employees throughout the Washington metropolitan area, as well as several other major cities across the nation.
We are currently in search of a Perl Web Developer for a position based at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland. In particular, this work is for the NIH's National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI). | Required skills: |
Three years of programming experience to include: 1) Two years professional experience developing web applications in Perl/CGI; 2) Two years professional experience with relational database development; 3) Solid knowledge of SQL, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS; 4) Experience developing and deploying applications on Unix and Linux platforms.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, fluency in both written and spoken English. Must possess the ability to work independently with little direct supervision in a multi-tasking environment. Must possess the willingness and ability to work in a team environment consisting of both programmers and scientists. Must be well-organized and experienced in software documentation. Must have a cooperative and service-oriented attitude, must be able to work under pressure and maintain a professional demeanor. Experience with object-oriented programming; experience with graphics, layout, and design; knowledge of versioning control software (CVS or RCS). |
