A new start up is looking for a candidate to perform 50% OO Perl Development and 50% Quality Assurance. The company is in the business of credit card transaction processing and is fully funded.
50% OO Perl Development The OO Perl developer will be responsible for the new development of a high volume credit card processing system from the ground up expected to handle 10K transactions/day within the first few months of production. The OO Perl is currently developed and deployed on Debian Linux with MySQL on the backend. 50% Quality Assurance The candidate will need to have interest in writing automated testing tools and scripts in Perl to test the above systems. The candidate will also be responsible for: Utilizing SQL to test MySQL Database Perform code reviews of other developers OO Perl code Utilize Subversion for Source Control This position is almost 100% telecommuting as once every 3-4 months the company will pay all expenses for meetings in Las Vegas. |

REQUIREMENTS
MUST have 2+ yrs of OO Perl development on Linux for high volume applications and/or systems MUST have experience creating testing tools and/or scripts in Perl (test::harness, test::more, test::simple) MUST have experience utilizing SQL to perform data verification to MySQL Since this is a 100% telecommuting position, good over the phone communication skills Plus: Subversion Database skills (preferable MySQL) including the ability to design relational databases, interface SQL optimization of queries to MySQL or Oracle MySQL InnoDB mode OR MySQL (any mode) AND either Oracle, Postgres, or Informix Familiar with using ORM (Object Relational Mapping) Experience with Rose-DB-Object Any DBA skills is a plus but not necessary |
