Description: Web Development Manager – Perl , AngularJS, JavaScript

Web Development Manager needed for web based business to lead from the front and manage both the Back-End team (Perl) and Front-End Team (AngularJS). The Web Development Manager will ideally be a Senior or lead Developer ready to take the next step up , You will lead a rapidly expanding team of 5 Perl Developer and 4 Front-End Developers. As the Web development manager you be the visionary for the development of the product. If you feel you could be this Web Development Manager then please read on.

Responsibilities:
• Monitoring and tracking performance
o Setting individual goals and themes
o Following progress throughout the year and performing end of year reviews
o Recognizing good performance and addressing/correcting poor performance
o Proposing and justifying promotions
• Regular status tracking
o Resource allocation
o Weekly status reports
• Inter group interaction
o Working with the Project Management group to plan projects and to act as a liaison between engineering staff and Project Managers
o Consistently deliver high-quality services to our technical support team
• Team construction
o Hiring and retaining employees to build and maintain a team
o Hold regular one on one meetings and team meetings with all reports
o Plan and coordinate team building and socializing events
o Manage team shared resources
• Process enforcement
o Communicate and enforce iDirect engineering process
o Identify opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change
o Remain on the forefront of emerging industry practices
• Technical leadership
o Mentoring web engineers
o Helping to set the technical vision for iDirect’s web based products
o Keeping up to date on emerging web technologies
o Organizing training activities as appropriate

Required Experience:
Education: At least a Bachelor’s degree, at grade of 2:1, in computer science, an equivalent, or an engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.
Required skills/experience:
1. Strong engineering skills including HTML, JavaScript, Ajax and CSS
2. Strong engineering skills with at least one server side scripting language such as Perl, Python, PHP etc.
3. Strong problem solving skills
4. Strong communication, both verbal and written, skills
5. Strong time management and organizational skills
6. Experience with a JavaScript framework (such as Prototype or JQuery)
7. Experience with Apache HTTP server or similar
8. Experience with a Linux operating system distribution
9. Experience building and leading a technical team
10. Flexibility, dedication and self-motivation

Beneficial skills/experience:
1. Experience with AngularJS, KendoUI and/or Highcharts
2. Experience with MySQL or Postgres
3. Experience with the Scrum or Kanban development methodology and associated tools
4. Experience managing a remote team
5. Experience presenting to an audience
6. Experience with Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration
7. Experience with Git and Jenkins
8. Experience with automated web testing tools such as Selenium
