Founded in 1994, our client specializes in Property Preservation and Maintenance, General Construction, Environmental Services, Real Estate Marketing and Real Estate Management Services, including management of REO contracts from Department of Housing and Urban Development, FDIC, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, GSA, and private mortgage banks. You will be working out of our client’s National Operations Center located near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Our client eventually wants you to take a leadership role to refactor, optimize, maintain, and develop the custom in house Perl application stack. When you are not coding Perl, you will have exposure to leadership driving changes. Your Mission as a Senior Perl Developer Everything you touch, goes into production. Set the technical architecture, direction, and development of web based business solutions Identify business and system gaps with potential benefits and escalate them in a timely and appropriate manner Serve as the technical liaison between management, project stake holders, customers, and users Support the planning and training of internal clients on new applications Manage fast moving web development projects. Promote policies that foster high quality standards and meet industry best practices Research, evaluate, embrace, and implement new technologies as they become available Develop Object Oriented Perl code in a modular fashion that can be easily tested and updated Provide hands on technical leadership and guidance to the development team, including mentoring, Perl code reviews, developing new products or enhancing features of existing ones |

The Skills we are looking for
Project Management – be able to perform all aspects of Software Development Lifecycle, including Keeping detailed documentation, Gather requirements, Define Specifications, Seek stake holder approval, develop your Object Oriented Perl code, Stage and Test, Release, and Maintain Oral Communication – be able to speak clearly and effectively to management, project stake holders, customers, and users Written Communication – be able to communicate effectively in all written work, including emails and ongoing documentation in the software development lifecycle for support level and user level documentation Planning and Organizing – be able to handle competing priorities, use time efficiently in an unsupervised environment, work through large projects in a self-motivated manner, meet deadlines on time and on budget Technical Abilities must include: o Advanced Knowledge of Perl including DBI, CGI, Object Oriented Programming, Perl best practices, deployment of CPAN modules in a production environment o Strong Working Knowledge of Algorithm and Data structures o Strong Working Knowledge of web technologies including PHP, XHTML, HTML, XML, Javascript, Jquery, and CSS o Strong Working Knowledge of Linux, Unix, Apache, Subversion o Strong Working Knowledge of MySQL required o Strong Working Knowledge of SQL Syntax and relational database design To be considered, please include a sample of your own Object Oriented Perl source code that is at least 100 lines long To begin your first round of interviews, please forward your cover letter, resume, and OO Perl code sample to: Mike N. mike@perlrecruiter.com www.facebook.com/perlrecruiter www.linkedin.com/in/perlrecruiter (888) 719-5664 Fax (310) 503-0470 Voice |
